1. Tempostat allows to support automatically chosen cruiser speed of the movement of the car. The servomotor of a tempostat is located in a motive compartment, fixed at the left on a back partition (on the V6 models - on the right) and is connected by a cable to draft of a butterfly valve. The main components of system are the servomotor, the sensor switch of stoplights (on models with RKPP - the sensor switch of disconnection of a chain of a starter), switches of management, sensors of speed and executive relays. Check of separate functions of system demands use of the special diagnostic equipment, and its performance lies outside qualification of the average amateur mechanic. The description only of procedures of the most general checks allowing to establish the reasons of the most typical refusals of a tempostat is given below. 2. Find a safety lock of a tempostat and check its state (see the Section Safety locks - the general information). 3. Operation of the foot brake of the sensor switch of stoplights reacting to squeezing of a pedal (or the sensor switch of provision of a pedal [BPP]) has to lead to shutdown of a tempostat. Ask the assistant to squeeze out a brake pedal and make sure of serviceability of operation of stoplights. 4. If stoplights do not react to squeezing of a pedal, find out a cause of failure and repeat check of serviceability of functioning of a tempostat. 5. Check a condition of the driving cable laid from assembly of the servomotor/amplifier of a tempostat to draft of a butterfly valve. Replace the damaged or worn-out cable.
