Check of serviceability of functioning of a starter on the car (in situ)
If the starter does not rotate at turn of the ignition key in situation START at all, first of all, make the following elementary checks: a) Check the battery charge level, and also a state and reliability of fastening of wires on plugs of the battery and the traction relay of a starter; b) Check a condition of wires of the battery (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of Wires of the Battery). Replace defective components; c) Check a condition of the battery (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of the Battery). In case of need replace it new; d) Check a condition of an electrical wiring and terminal connections of a starter; e) Check reliability of tightening of bolts of fastening of a starter; f) At the corresponding complete set check a condition of fusible inserts in the assembly block in a motive compartment of the car (see the Head Onboard electric equipment). If any of inserts failed, make investigation and elimination of the reasons of an overload. Also check serviceability of functioning of a chain of the switch of ignition (see the Head Onboard electric equipment); g) Check serviceability of functioning of the sensor switch of permission of start (model with AT) / switching off of a chain of a starter (model with RKPP). Start of the engine can be carried out only in case the lever of the selector of transfers is installed in situation "P" or "N" (AT), or the pedal of coupling (RKPP) is squeezed completely out. h) Check serviceability of functioning of the relay of inclusion of a starter, rasppolzhenny in the assembly block of safety locks/relay in a motive compartment of the car (see the Head Onboard electric equipment). If the starter does not begin to rotate at turn of the ignition key in situation START, check serviceability of giving of power supply of the battery for the traction relay. Connect the voltmeter to the S plug of the traction relay and ask the assistant to turn the engine. The voltmeter has to issue the indication equal to battery tension. If the voltmeter is not had near at hand, address schemes of electric connections in the Head Onboard electric equipment of the present manual and check a condition of all safety locks and the relay which are switched on consistently in an engine charge chain. Find the assembly block of safety locks under the dashboard of the car at the left and check a safety lock No. 13 on 7.5 A. Also check serviceability of functioning of the relay of shutdown of a starter. If tension takes place, however the starter is not turned, remove assembly of the last from the engine (see the Section Removal and installation of a starter) and make its check on a workbench. If the starter turns a bent shaft too slowly, it is necessary to check the size of the supply voltage given on it. Check is made without removal of a starter from the car.
